With years of experience as a guest accordionist with globally renowned artists such as Rosa Passos, Badi Assad, Chico Cesar, and the Symphonic Orchestra of Bahia, she released her first album as a songwriter in 2017. “Vinha da Ida”, an album with edgy arrangements and inventive lyrics, received critical acclaim for its fusion of Brazilian roots and world rhythms. Her success led to extensive touring around the world, including projects such as the “Akkordeon Festival Wien” (Austria/2015), “International Macau Parade” (China/2018), “Cantos na Maré” (Galicia, Spain/2019), and the “Found Sound Nation’s Onebeat Residency Program and Tour” (USA/2017), among others. In 2022, Livia released her second album, “APNEIA”, a hybrid of songs and instrumental pieces, which included the award-winning single of the same name. Livia is a composer who has won several prestigious awards, such as the Toca Festival’s Music Award for “APNEIA” (2020), the Composer (North/Northeast) Award at the Professional Music Awards (2021), and the Grão Lifetime Achievement Award (2022). Beyond her music career, Livia is a charismatic frontwoman who seamlessly transitions into other forms of art, including dance, video, theatre, and circus. Currently, she is directing a documentary on the tradition of circus music in Brazil, based on narratives by circus veterans. Livia’s captivating performances transform the weight of the accordion into lightness, displaying her vibrant power and stage presence. With her power trio, composed of accordion/voice, tuba, and drums, Livia’s music is a fusion of originality and experimentation, showcasing her instrumental and compositional prowess.
